The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Australia announced the results of a major worldwide research project, sponsored by APM Group, OGC (former owner of Best Management Practice) and TSO, on 6th August 2010 at the Best Practice Showcase in Sydney, Australia. The research analyses the impact of the project management methodology PRINCE2 on project performance.
The research was undertaken collaboratively by the QUT Faculty of Business and the Faculty of Engineering (School of Urban Development). The key members of the research team were Richard Sargeant (chief investigator), Professor Caroline Hatcher, Associate Professor Bambang Trigunarsyah, Dr Vaughan Coffey and Dr Judy Kraatz.
The research is entitled Creating Value in Project Management Using PRINCE2. For comparison, the study also conducted parallel research on the impact of other contemporary project management frameworks on project performance. Research participants were all experienced project managers who have used PRINCE2 or other project management frameworks. The participants were drawn from the ICT, construction, and transport industries across UK, Europe, the US and Australia.
